To users of club K2s
We are in a fortunate position to have an ever growing fleet of club boats. This is intended as a friendly letter to remind all of us who benefit from the club fleet of K2s what our responsibilities are to ensure that this equipment remains serviceable in the future.
Firstly I would refer you to the yellow laminated document on the board in the lobby which sets out the guidelines for use of club boats. There are several points I would like to clarify here.
- Permission is required to use club K2s for events away from the club. This should be obtained from me (as Racing Captain) either verbally at the club, or by phone or by email. Permissions are essentially given on a first come first serve basis (whilst also considering the 4 points detailed on the supporting document).
- Some boats have restricted use, either in terms of who, or what for (see below).
- Any time a club K2 is used it must be placed on the racks only after it has been thoroughly emptied of water. Any mud and debris should be cleaned.
- If it is necessary to change footrests or remove fittings from the boat (e.g. pull-bars) they should be replaced immediately and before the boat is placed on the rack after use.
- Any damages should be reported immediately and those responsible should be aware they are liable for repair costs.
Boat usage as follows:
- Blue/white Leader: sprint only, no portaging at all
- Blue/white Regina (x2): sprint or marathon with no portage (shortly to be repaired)
- Blue/clear Regina (x2): deep water marathon with portages
- Kevlar/carbon Regina: anything except a weir
- White (Nelo) Regina: anything except a weir
Any queries on this, please ask. Your effort is appreciated.
Thanks
