A random and incomplete selection in no particular order of our lovely club members. There are a few profiles that are awaiting details. Feel free to help me with them!

James Treadgold, dedicaated organiser of the waterside series at Newbury races for Reading. When lucky his able to get on the canal for the races he runs too. Of DW calibre.
Phil Ede, tireless breakfast cooker, prepares us with a feast each Saturday. Also spotted as chauffeur to one or other of his canoeing children. Writes for the paper and goes on many of the junior trips.
Tom Daniels is very fast. Following a rapid ascent to the top of the squad he gains world medals with ease. Shortly to head to Royal to train for bigger and better things.
Quietly, Amoret Kings is sneaking her way to the front of each race and up the divisions. With calm determination and hard training (through her school work) she has been storming throught the divisions.
Ron Billingham, father of Jane Craigie, cameraman to the stars, fast-car connoisseur and all round good egg often gets dragged down to the club and gives his time to help at races. We'd be lost without him.
Andy Daniels, hot on his brother's heels as one of the country's top juniors has made leaps and bounds recently. With a calm head he races to success.
Abi Coulson, so tall and yet so fast. Catty, not scatty, Abi is a talented athlete, not to mention journalist. Best of British, she leads the GB ladies squad to the world stage. She can whup yo' ass.
Hedonistic, hard working Anita Cooper keeps the chairman in order. She's a lesser spotted canoeist at the moment, but around and about.
Oh yes, it's Nick Daniels. Father of the Daniels' canoeing empire. Volatile, experienced and dedicated. Coaching, fixing and canoeing throughout the week.
Brian Craigie is one of the world's finest photographers and much of his work can be found in this web site. Known for some characteristic wobbles as well for his help around the club.
Brian Greenham is a phenomenon. regular competitor in national "tough guy" events, he's a magnificent endurance athlete. He dedicates tonnes of time to the club in many forms especially coaching and repairing things.
Chairman Dan Seaford (today the club, tomorrow the world) has taken the club forward since his 'reign' began and is behind the gym extension plans. If not chairing or training, will surely be asleep.
David Sackman is currently of expanding-family fame. A C1'er of international level and a chairman are also to his credit.
David Coulson, an educator of the children of Cokethorpe school, mainly in the art of paddling, has a wealth of canoeing experience to impart. Organisation is another gift that he brings to the club - as Racing Captain.
Another suspicious look, this time from Gail Battison. Canoeist, parent and party queen are things that keep her occupied.
Ian Dyer, sporting an especially empty minded expression in the photo, is nothing of the sort. Bikes and cars keep him occupied when not in the river or sorting out the membership woes.
Lively Jane Craigie races every race like the world champs, with expressions to match. Her biceps are bigger than Dan's. Always looking svelt in her leather trousers
If there's a day that Nigel Frankland isn't at the club, then It's a strange one. Normally found with the junior groups or training hard himself.
Well I never, it's Paul 'Marsport' Ralph. He travels the country with his truck and expensive rudders, but is occasionally forced into paddling. Part of the furniture of GB canoe racing for many years.
Buggy
At Reading since the beginning of time, Sue Gray has had a good year: She hasn't wrecked any boats. Almost blinded her K2 partner however!
Chris Masters is the major force behind the slalom section of the club. He has dedicated many hundreds of years of his time and effort to the club and it's paddlers.
Joseph Hubert
Hmmm, this can only be one thing - Peter Burbridge. Quirky, bipolar and itenerant; hiding in Plymouth from the rivers that kept me so busy. Aspiring to the top of the medical career ladder involves no paddling, sadly.
Stuart Bennett has come to us from 'the other club' down the river and will be racing for us next year. It's good that he's seen the light and we'll get him paddling like a star immenently.
Pip Ede graces us with his presence at the club, flitting around on the water, without a clue. Most sessions end with a peroid of observation at the rowing club.
Nigel Winters stands alongside Chris Masters with the running of the slalom group. He is also involved in the southern region and national slalom committees.
Wiki Daniels, here sporting a lovely 70's Abba stylee, has raced around the world and continues to compete in divisional marathons, often in K2. You would be misled by her quiet voice if you were to believe that she is quiet in nature!
Peter Haynes
Tamsin Phipps got our magnificent current building in place. An endurance athlete in chairmanning as well as that crazy Easter race. Some back problems have prevented tonnes of training of late
